I am an MD/PhD student at the University of Washington who recently completed his doctorate in bioengineering. My research involved studying how human embryonic stem cells could be used to rebuild heart muscle in rodents given heart attacks. While in graduate school, I developed a passion for communicating between science and society. This manifested itself in an organization I helped found and lead called the Forum on Science Ethics and Policy. I blog regularly about the intersection of science, medicine and society and advocate for just and responsible uses of science and technology. I intend to pursue a career facilitating conversations and translating ideas between different groups and communities about complex issues at the intersection of science, health and society. If you like what I write or have an idea for a collaboration, please contact me through my blog, Hope for Pandora.
