St. George's Orthodox Church is located in the Semi-Arid Sub-Tropics of South Texas, right on the border with Mexico. The Church's many outreach programs include: 1) St. George's Food Pantry - which feeds women, children, families and elderly, often new immigrants to the USA.  2) Service Retreats for Youth and Young Adults - a combination of service work at the Food Pantry and a girl's orphange in Reynosa, Mexico, as well as spiritual sessions and fellowship/recreational activities. 3) Environmental "Green Break" Spring Break Service retreats - designing and planting native species trees and plants; habitat reconstruction and preservation; visiting local wildlife refuges, etc. 4) Reconstruction and delivery of various supplies and materials to mission churches in Mexico City and Monterrey, Mexico. 5) Collecting and distributing blankets, baby blankets, toys, school supplies,  coats and jackets, toiletries and house supplies to local needy, especially during holiday and back to school seasons.  6) Gathering and distributing Spanish-language books and liturgical services for Orthodox Churches in Mexico and for native Spanish-speaking people in the USA.
