My Bio

Ksenia Oustiougova was born in Moscow, Russia, and moved to US 8 years ago, transferring from Moscow Architectural Institute to Cornish College of the Arts. After graduating in the Design program, she has started working as an interior architect and realized this was not “it”. With the help of a newborn son she had time to rethink her purpose in life and found two new passions: storytelling with images and raising her son bilingually.
She quit her job and took a screen writing class at 911 Media Arts Center, teaching her son by day, and writing by night. Two years later she arrived at an animation WALKING PAST (screened at SIFF 2005, airing on Comcast-On-Demand currently), a short live-action kids' fantasy film THE GOLDEN LEAF (in post-production), and LILIPIP, a product in the making to help busy parents teach their kids on the go. In May 2006 she won BEST CONSUMER PRODUCT IDEA for LILIPIP (under the old name, RRREAD) at the UW MBA Business Plan Competition and with that her two new passions merged into one - building a company that teaches kids on the go via their parents' cell phones.
She currently focuses on the development of her company, LILIPIP. She is particularly drawn to the traditions of Terry Gilliam, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, and Monty Python, as well as Russian writers Anton Chekhov and Daniel Kharms.
