Anne-Marie McReynolds is the program coordinator for New Voices for Youth, an outreach project of the Leagues of Women Voters of Palo Alto and San Mateo County, Calif.  New Voices for Youth encourages young people, with an emphasis on those from diverse communities, to develop their interest, knowledge and skills in the area of civic engagement, especially voting. Participants create public service announcements that will be shown on public access cable television and online.  McReynolds, who graduated from Stanford University in 2000, was an award-winning photojournalist at the San Jose Mercury News for five years and later pursued citizen journalism through her own syndicated blog distributed by LexisNexis services.
