I hate putting on a bathing suit. It's irrational, to some extent, but very real. I am not alone.

It's that time of year again. Seems like everyone is resolving to lose weight. And some part of me is okay with that, there are probably a lot of people that are unhealthy because of extra weight that is impacting everything from organ function to joint function to their ability to live life as they want to. Those people need to lose weight.

I'm not sure why, but I have always loved Jennifer Love Hewitt. I can't say she's ever made a movie that I liked, or have even seen, for that matter. But I've always liked her. The most obvious reason is that she's ridiculously beautiful. But she's ridiculously beautiful in a way that is at once wholesome and sultry. Not many women can pull that off.

I am proud to be the mother of a little girl. (Actually, getting bigger way too fast.) As I watch my own body change (who knew that body parts migrated just like birds!), and come to terms with it, I struggle on a regular basis with how to present it to her. She is like my shadow.
