Biodiversity is the yardstick for human survival on this planet. Our mission is to empower a national network of volunteer citizen scientists to map the components of biodiversity and to provide validated data to government agencies, academia, industry, and environmental activists so they may make better decisions.
The problem is that climate change, pollution, global warming, endangered spieces, over crowding, over fishing etc. are widely acknowledged. Concerned citizens want to take action but there are not enough experts or fundung to gather and map accurate data. The NatureMapping Foundation equips citizens with the training and tools to conduct valid scientific research on their own and send it to our labs for evaluation and GIS mapping. The result is that decision makers will have accurate timely data to help make the right choices for our environment.
The NatureMapping is a 501c3 organization. If you are interested in knowing more, please visit our website at http://depts.washington.edu/natmap
