Common Cents is an educational, not-for-profit organization, which specializes in creating and managing service-learning programs for young people. Our most popular and best known program is the Penny Harvest, the largest child philanthropy program in the United States.

Our mission is to build informed, capable, and caring communities by igniting the civic spirit of a new generation. The Penny Harvest, Common Cents’ signature program, gives our youngest citizens the knowledge, tools and power to strengthen their communities through philanthropy, service, and civic action.

Common Cents provides program tools, curriculum, professional development, as well as ongoing logistical and programmatic support to each participating school to ensure the Penny Harvest is a rich experience in service-learning and civic education for all students.
