826 National is an innovative tutoring, writing, and publishing nonprofit based in seven cities across the country.

Mentors are matched one-to-one with a student. Mentors and mentees meet after school and/or on weekends and spend 4 to 6 hours per month.

Biofuels represent an important transition fuel from fossil fuels to the next energy source for transportation and other applications. It is important that objective information is disseminated to promote their prudent expansion and usage.

This cause is to encourage biofuel research, use, and intelligent expansion.

Everyone burns in their on way.  Some burn bright, some smolder, but we all need that fire within to be recognized, sparked and shared.  On or off the Playa, connect around the causes that shape the whole world (yeah, we create one intense world together each year, but we also create the world around us each day, in every way.)

My husband, Myles (who has a blog on here somewhere) is a bicycle commuter.  For a variety of reasons - most of which actually have to do with his sanity - he has eschewed the car in favor of half a dozen bikes that clutter our house with their parts.

Geothermal energy is largely an untapped resource in America. While geothermal plants are often a first choice in developing nations, the last major GT plants in the US were built almost 30 years ago. So, what can the average consumer do to help advance the cause?

There are thousands of non-profits out there all trying to get recognition and spreading the word of their good cause.

This is intended to be a collection of businesses who do more than just meet consumer needs - they work for a Greater Good. Whether it's a clean environment, better public education, increased arts funding, and end to homelessness, support of medical research - these companies are making the world a better place.
