Today is the First Day...

Today is the day that I consider to be my official "first day" as an intern at Chore. At this point in time I am optimistic and full of energy to tackle the tasks in front of me.  However, I have that ever-looming feeling that projects aren't always easily accomplished.  Take this one for example; I have never "blogged" before.  I have just spent the last twenty minutes observing the blogs of others, and have found that everyone takes on a different style of writing.  I have also vowed at this point to be dedicated to said blog on a weekly basis, but from the experience of others, I know that that in itself is a challenging task.

However, I am excited about the content itself that exists within the blog.  The continuous improvement in well-being of the elderly in my community (as well as everywhere) is an important matter to me personally.  I hope that within the coming months, this blog will serve as a forum for me to share my learning experiences as a volunteer and intern, as well as discuss any dispelled stereotypes, revelations, or disappointments I may encounter. If anyone happens to be reading this, I also encourage you to volunteer with the Chore program at Whatcom Volunteer Center (or in your own community), or if you know someone in need of assistance, to seek out the many resources offered by volunteer centers.
