Nokia is Expected to Launch the LTE Terminal by the End of the Year

Last week the first world LTE data call on the frequency of 800MHz was jointly achieved by the world largest mobile phone manufactuer Nokia and Nokia Siemens. It also means that Nokia is likely to launch the LTE terminal by the end of the year.

At present, only the Samsung LTE internet card has been put into commercial operation by TeliaSonera in Stockholm and Oslo. But there is no mobile manufacturers show that they will release a LTE mobile phone this year.

This test is run in the LTE Center of Competence of Nokia Siemens Company in Esbjerg Finland. In April, Nokia started to produce the LTE Flexi Multiradio station of the 800 MHz frequency. Before that, Nokia Siemens and Nokia have completed the LTE test of 2100 MHz and 2600 MHz frequency.

The business director of Nokia Siemens Rieno Tammela stated, “In May this year, there is Germany operator gains the frequency spectrum of 800MHz by auction.” Before that, LTE mostly does the work at the 2.1 GHz or 2.6GHz frequency. But the lower the frequency is, the better the penetrability is. The operator can put the LTE in the mobile broadband service in countryside.

The two large American mobile operators Verizon Wireless and AT&T plan to open up the 700MHz LTE commercial network around the end of this year. The largest operator NTT Docomo in Japan will open up the 2100MHz LTE service. The worldwide scale deployment of LTE is expected to be achieved.
